Top Chef Meals: Best Social Distancing Practices

Best Social Distancing Practices

Though life is starting to return to pre-quarantine ways, you should still be practicing social distancing as cases of COVID-19 rise throughout the country. Here are some of the best practices to follow.

THE STORY: Even if you’re starting back to work or going outdoors more often with restrictions being lifted around the country, COVID-19 is still out there and affecting people. Social distancing is still one of the best ways to protect yourself and others around you.

HOW DOES SOCIAL DISTANCING HELP? COVID-19 spreads via tiny droplets in the air expelled by coughing or sneezing. It also spreads mainly amongst people who are in close contact for prolonged periods. Not coming into close contact with others (and wearing a mask!) helps prevent the spread of the disease.

HOW TO SOCIAL DISTANCE: No matter where you are, you can help flatten the curve by doing the following:

1. Keep 6 feet between yourself and others.
2. Work from home if possible.
3. Avoid public places when possible - keep it to the essentials.
4. Gym life - if you absolutely must go to the gym, wipe down and sanitize the equipment you use and avoid touching others.
5. Avoid gatherings of 10+ people.
6. Find other ways to connect with people such as phone calls, video chats, online movie nights, etc.

THE WRAP-UP: Being socially distant can be tough, but it’s in the best interest of everyone. While you’re social distancing, also take care of your emotional health! Take breaks from obsessively reading news about COVID-19, take care of your body by eating well and getting regular exercise, make time to unwind, and connect with loved ones via phone or online.

ONE LAST THOUGHT: Father’s Day is right around the corner and though you may not be able to see Dad in person, you can still gift him something great (and video chat with him)! Need last-minute ideas?
